A very long day for the donkeys and their handlers, but great exposure for the sanctuary. This was a ceremonial celebration marking 100 years since the island of Lemnos was used as a staging location for serving Australian troops. The Island had 2 hospitals and the injured troops were sent there for treatment with several finding a final resting place on the island. The event was co-ordinated by the Greek Consul General of Sydney.
